About Dr. Austin
Approach To Patient Care
--------------------
Dr. Austin brings over 16 years of experience practicing integrative and root cause focused medicine, helping patients find relief from chronic health conditions, cognitive issues, gut and digestive disorders, hormonal imbalances, weight concerns, and inflammatory conditions.

Her approach to patient care looks beyond just treating symptoms and aims to uncover and address the underlying causes of health issues. She considers the connection and impact of various factors, including genetics, environment, and lifestyle, to create a more comprehensive understanding of a person's well-being.

The focus is on treating the individual rather than the disease, emphasizing personalized interventions such as lifestyle changes, nutrition, and sometimes supplements.

Dr. Austin works collaboratively with patients to support long-term health by combining conventional medicine with evidence-based alternative therapies. She embodies this patient-centered, holistic approach, listening closely to each individual’s story to not only identify a diagnosis, but to enhance overall wellness and quality of life through personalized, integrative care.

Why Medicine?
--------------------
Dr. Austin’s passion for functional and integrative medicine, especially nutritional medicine, began as a teenager after reading Mental & Elemental Nutrients by Carl Pfeiffer, MD, PhD. Inspired by the powerful connection between nutrition, brain function, and behavior, she discovered her calling as a physician and began using that knowledge to address her own health challenges.

For Dr. Austin, living a healthy lifestyle isn’t just a professional commitment, it’s a way of life. A passionate advocate for wellness and chronic disease prevention, she is also an accomplished athlete with numerous top finishes in triathlons. Whether hiking, swimming, or mountain biking through the Texas Hill Country, Dr. Austin lives out her dedication to holistic well-being.
